What does display screen equipment mean?
The initial thing people think of is a computer monitor. However, that’s not the only thing that’s covered. In this ever changing mobile world it could also mean laptops, tablet PCs, televisions, smartphones, CNC control pads, portable diagnostic screens or equipment containing cathode ray tubes, as well as CRTs.
The Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations contain specific directives covering DSE safety. Both employers and employee “users” have responsibilities under this legislation.
