Emergency first aid is the care a person will carry out at an incident before the help of a more appropriate person. Some people will have regular first aid training as part of their duties at work, for some of us though, you may never face a serious accident and may never need to do more than applying a plaster or cooling a burn.
Bearing that in mind, if you were faced with a serious first aid emergency could you help? This Emergency first aid online course will highlight some of the most common situations that you might come across and the actions that you can take to help. In any serious situation you need to be able to prioritise casualties, assess the accident scene and prevent them from further danger. Acting in the correct way can dramatically increase the chance of survival.
This course covers 16 modules with questions at the end.
This course is approved by the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management. Our IIRSM approved courses are owned by VideoTile Learning Ltd and distributed under licence.
In June 2015 the HSE issued a statement about blended learning for first aid. As yet we are awaiting more formal guidance however, the HSE now states blended learning has its place in the modern world. When online training is coupled with practical training it can be effective, providing appropriate checks are carried out. The full statement can be read here. On a standard face to face accredited first aid course the certificates last for three years however state “annual refreshers are recommended” this emergency first aid online course would be a good way to fulfil this.
