Safe administration of medication is vital to keep everyone safe and to also adhere to legislation. This course is a half day training course suitable for clinical staff within private healthcare, or medical settings. Also suitable for any organisations that administer medications such as respite organisations, or those dispensing medication to children.
This course uses a variety of teaching aids such as drug charts, MARS sheets, BNF and Mims manuals, as well as exploring the uses of dosset boxes and nomad medication delivery systems.
During the safe administration of medication course we will explore the legislation of dispensing medication, as well as local policies. By all means if you would like to give us a copy of your policy we will discuss this on the course. Candidates will be informed of the different routes for dispensing medication and how these may be abbreviated.
If required this course may be extended to a full day’s training by adding on one of our other courses such as the Qualsafe accredited basic life support and anaphylaxis. Please enquire as to the special offer combined rate.
Please note this course does not cover the use of rectal medications. A handout will be given to each attendee.
