Learning Disability Awareness

Learning disability awareness is about providing an overview of common types of learning disabilities. Whilst also looking at how they may affect the individual.

There are many types of learning disabilities and people may be born with them, or acquire them later in life. These neurological disabilities are lifelong conditions, and often present in a variety of characteristics.

These conditions may affect how the person processes information, how they understand or indeed communicate. Within the learning disability awareness course it will touch on person centred care and the requirements of management to consider each individuals needs.

The course will also explore the stigma attached to learning disabilities and how to work towards being more inclusive.
