Our Modern Slavery online course is an essential course for everyone to complete. Many people have heard of the term but are unfamiliar what it is. Modern slavery refers to the recruitment, harbouring, movement and trafficking of adults and children. These individuals are forced to commit crimes, are often sexually abuse, or forced into marriage. They are often criminally exploited, and it occurs more often than you may think, a believed 130,000 people in the UK.
This online course explores case studies, looks at the victim’s perspective and considers where could be a holding base for these victims. You will then learn who is vulnerable to being trafficked or controlled and how to report these crimes and what the role of the National Referral Mechanism is. As part of this you will explore the Modern Slavery Act 2015, and the role of small businesses in helping to combat modern slavery by providing practical tips and anti-slavery pledges.
The course is completed by looking at helpful contact details for both authorities and charities which may support or provide help to these vulnerable members of our society.
