From September 2026 it will be mandatory for school staff to have allergy awareness and emergency response training. This course has been devised using the statutory guidance from Benedict's Law and is suitable for school staff, and other settings where there may be concerns about how to recognise and respond to allergic reactions and anaphylaxis.
This course is delivered in person and includes practical hands on training using demonstration adrenaline auto injectors including EpiPen, Jext devices and the EUR Neffy nasal spray as well. This gives attendees the opportunity to practice and gain confidence in how to respond appropriately in an emergency.

This course can be delivered to anyone working in or around children. This could include school teaching staff, school support staff, catering and administration teams, cleaning staff or after school club workers. Cover staff or regular volunteers. The new guidance requires a whole school support response to allergies and anaphylaxis rather than relying only on first aid trained staff.
