Basic Life Support & Management of Anaphylaxis

Anaphylaxis is caused by the bodies over production of histamine. In other words, a potentially life threatening reaction. It is important to point out numbers of sufferers are rising each year. Our Basic Life Support & Management of Anaphylaxis course is especially suited for individuals who have a responsibility to look after others with this condition. It is also helpful for people who may be required to administer an autoinjector device (Epi, Jext or Emerade pen)

  • Chain of survival
  • Incident and casualty assessment
  • Managing unresponsive casualty
  • CPR
  • Using an automated external defibrillator
  • Anaphylaxis signs and symptoms
  • Adrenaline auto-injectors ( Epi pen, Jext Pen and Emerade devices)
  • Common triggers
  • Safe disposals of sharps

Anyone who may be required to administer an auto injector device (Jext, Emerade or Epi pen) for the treatment of anaphylaxis.
