Mental health covers a whole range of topics and conditions, this course will look at neurodiversity conditions like autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, social phobias and panic disorders. There is an extensive number of mental illnesses also discussed, including self-harm, eating disorders, bipolar, and schizophrenia.
In addition to looking at the presentation and diagnosis of these conditions, you will explore the role of dedicated mental health professionals. Professionals such as play therapists, psychiatrists, psychologists, clinical social workers and psychiatric nurses are an important step to finding a treatment plan.
After exploring treatment plans, the course will conclude with how to promote positive mental health, dispel common myths and practical techniques to talk to children and young people about their feelings and mental health.
