The course will explore the signs of depression in children, teenagers and adults. Everyone has different reasons why they are depressed, but the course will explore some common factors that can play a part.
The depression awareness course reviews types of depression and other associated conditions, including psychotic depression and how it can be managed. Depression can affect you both physically and socially as well as mentally, so during this course it will look at the roles of diet and exercise as part of a management plan and thinking about the importance of work life balance.
A variety of management techniques will be explored including medication, relaxation, behavioural and talking therapies.

This is aimed at anyone within health and social care fields who wishes to ensure their knowledge is up to date. The course may also be suitable for those outside of health and social care if they work or manage someone with depression. It may also be helpful for anyone emotionally supporting someone with the condition.
You are given the chance to review all your answers at the end of each module before final submission and you will be given 3 attempts at each module to achieve a pass rate of 70%
