This course is aimed at people who are responsible for assessing display screen equipment. It is equally important that those in a management or supervisory role are also kept informed.

 

What does display screen equipment mean?

The initial thing people think of is a computer monitor. However, that's not the only thing that's covered. In this ever changing mobile world it could also mean laptops, tablet PCs, televisions, smartphones, CNC control pads, portable diagnostic screens or equipment containing cathode ray tubes, as well as CRTs.

The Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations contain specific directives covering DSE safety. Both employers and employee "users" have responsibilities under this legislation.

This course fulfils your statutory training obligations and consequently covers a variety of topics including, the correct way to set up and use your display screen equipment safely. This is with the main aim of reducing the risk of work related conditions.

This course is made up of 14 modules with questions at the end and a practical element.

This course is aimed at companies who employ users of display screen equipment, or DSE as it’s often called and is intended to be completed by those who will be assessing the DSE set ups of employees. DSE is a term that covers a wide range of equipment. If equipment like this is not set up correctly, users are at increased risk from certain disorders.

You are given the chance to review all your answers at the end of each module before final submission and you will be given 3 attempts at each module to achieve a pass rate of 70% on 14 modules. You must also pass module 15 in order to complete the course.
