Display Screen Equipment Awareness

The Display Screen Equipment Awareness course focuses on users of display screens (DSE). A ‘user’ is defined as anyone who regularly uses display screens in their normal duties for a significant part of their day. In fact, if you use them continuously for more than one hour a day, then you’re a ‘user’.

What does display screen equipment mean?

The initial thing people think of is a computer monitor. However, that’s not the only thing that’s covered. Understandably in this ever changing mobile world it could also mean laptops, tablet PCs, televisions, smartphones, diagnostic screens or equipment containing cathode ray tubes, or CRTs.

The Health and Safety Regulations contain specific directives covering
DSE safety. As a result, employers and employee "users" have responsibilities under the legislation.

This course fulfils your statutory training obligations and among other things covers, the correct way to set up and use your display screen equipment safely. This is with the main aim of reducing work related conditions.

Finally, the course is made up of 8 modules with questions at the end of each module.

This course is approved by the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management., CPD Service and IOSH. Our approved courses are owned by VideoTile Learning Ltd and distributed under licence.
