Food Safety Level 1 (Manufacturing)

Any person that handles food (as well as their employer) has a legal duty to manage food safety. These obligations are set out by a number of EU and UK Laws. The Laws state that food handlers must ensure that food which is to be prepared, cooked, served or sold, is safe for human consumption. Failing to adhere to these standards can cause food to become contaminated with potentially fatal consequences.

Undertaking this course will provide you (or your employees) with a greater knowledge about food awareness, you will understand the dangers that poor food safety standards poses, as well as understanding what steps can be taken to control and prevent them.

The Level 1 Awards in Food Safety Manufacturing provide an ideal solution to staff induction training including:

  • New employees with minimal or no prior food safety knowledge
  • Employees handling low-risk or wrapped foods (category A)
  • Front of house employees, such as waiting or check out staff
  • Back of house employees, such as kitchen porters or warehouse staff

The level 1 course is perfect for those not directly involved in food preparation, or those staff only handling pre wrapped or packaged foods only. There are 4 modules with questions at the end of each.

This food safety online training course is accredited by the Institute of Hospitality, Gatehouse Awards, IIRSM, IOSH and CPD. Our approved courses are owned by VideoTile Learning Ltd and distributed under licence.
