Mental health can mean different things to different people, but we can all agree it impacts on every area of a persons life and can be a significant problem.
Around 1:4 of us are likely to be diagnosed with a mental health problem in our life. Many people experience short term difficulties that may get under control with medication, combined with therapy. Poor mental health can be a factor in substance misuse at work, high levels of stress, or depression.
Mental health first aid is about teaching first aiders to recognise and support staff who may be struggling. It includes how to connect them with appropriate help from community resources, manager support or healthcare professionals.
The course concludes with practical examples of how to apply the teachings to real life scenarios and how to ensure a work based mental health first aid programme is a success.
This online mental health first aid course is accredited by the CPD service and Gatehouse Awards. Our approved courses are owned by VideoTile Learning Ltd and distributed under licence.
Approx 90 minutes.
Upon successful completion you will be able to download a certificate for printing.
