Safeguarding Adults

Our safeguarding adults course highlights individuals roles and responsibilities when working with adults. Including how to protect an adult’s right to live in safety, free from abuse and neglect.

Some adults may need support and help to feel empowered to make decisions over how they live there life. Steps will need to be taken by both individuals and organisations, to ensure individuals do not suffer from abuse. This may include taking proportional measures to ensure their basic human and civil rights are being met.

Whilst this is a difficult subject to address, it is vital we look into facts, figures, details and types of abuse that adults may suffer. This is in order to discuss the appropriate actions we can take if it is suspected. In understanding basic safeguarding principles and legislations you will be better placed to adopt these skills into your role.

This safeguarding adults course will also discuss why some of the principle laws came into place, what is meant by the term "mental capacity" and how to fully support those who need help to reach decisions and give informed consent. In undertaking this safeguarding adult course you will be armed with information about both your responsibilities and boundaries.
