The control and administration of medication in schools is an integral part of school training. Children are an especially vulnerable client group. They rely solely on the adult correctly dispensing the medication. Safe storage and the control of administration are essential to safeguard all children in school settings.
This half day course is somewhat similar to our regular safe administration of medication course. Many of the principles apply, however we focus on looking at this from the needs of the pupil.
During the control and administration of medication in schools course we will explore the legislation of dispensing medication, as well as local policies. By all means, if you would like to give us a copy of your policy we will discuss this on the course.
If required this course may be extended to a full day's training by adding on one of our other courses such as basic life support and anaphylaxis. Please enquire as to the special offer combined rate.
Please note this course does not cover the use of rectal medications. A handout will be given to each attendee.
